Our reception space provides a calm and cozy waiting area for both you, and your furry companion. We diffuse Lavender and play soothing music to help your pet relax and find comfort in each visit at FVR. Our receptionist will be here to greet you with a smile, answer any questions you may have, and help schedule your future appointments.
We offer a variety of exercise equipment available for purchase, to aid in your pet's home exercise program. Additionally, we carry assistive equipment for pets with limited mobility, and are happy to order the special equipment necessary for your pet's specific needs. You can also find premium quality supplements and treats, to help your pet feel their best from the inside out.
Each of our exam rooms are designed with comfort in mind. We strive to provide a space for our patients and their families to feel safe and relaxed, and we truly believe that this is necessary in order for healing to take place.
In each exam room, you'll be greeted with a comfortable chair to rest in during your pet's therapy, soothing music, the gentle aroma of Lavender, and of course, a soft and supportive cushion for your pet, which allows us to work comfortably on the floor at their level. Each room also offers rubber flooring to ensure good footing for each of our patients.
Hydrotherapy in an underwater treadmill uses the natural properties of water, or the principles of relative density, buoyancy, hydrostatic pressure, surface tension, viscosity and resistance to achieve its therapeutic benefits in a safe environment. Exercising in water can help reduce fatigue and pressure on joints, soothe aches, and help with balance. It can also improve mobility and flexibility, allowing patients to recover from surgery or an injury quicker, and experience a better quality of life and well-being.
Many conditions benefit from underwater treadmill therapy, especially those disorders in which an animal is reluctant to use a limb or there is a lack of strength, range of motion, proprioceptive ability or weight-bearing status. We have the ability to control the speed, resistance and depth, which allows for a tailored and progressive therapy plan for every type or breed of patient.
Our land exercise room is an indoor, air-conditioned room consisting of exercise equipment to aid in the physical rehabilitation of our canine patients. We use positive reinforcement to encourage our patients to use their muscles in a more specific way by performing exercises on various pieces of equipment. This method of rehabilitation allows us to retrain proprioception (where the body is in space and time), target specific muscle groups, and improve agility in performance. Each exercise is guided by a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Assistant in a fun and force free environment.
