Jenna Hamilton
Veterinary Rehabilitation Assistant Float
Jenna, a Volusia County native, grew up locally before moving to Gainesville, Florida, to pursue her college education. While there, she began volunteering at a local animal shelter, which marked the start of her fostering journey. A few months into volunteering, Jenna was offered a position as an Animal Care Technician and Adoption Coordinator, where she helped find forever homes for hundreds of animals.
After gaining invaluable experience at the shelter, Jenna transitioned to general veterinary practice, where she spent the next five years assisting with wellness exams, emergency care, and surgeries. Following her time in Gainesville, Jenna decided to return to her hometown to be closer to family.
Outside of work, Jenna enjoys spending her free time with her two foster "fails"—Cyclops, a one-eyed tuxedo cat, and Kai, a gentle yellow lab affectionately known as “Horse Dog.” She also cares for chickens and cultivates a garden filled with fruits and vegetables. From a young age, Jenna had a deep desire to rescue and care for animals, whether it was a baby squirrel that had fallen from a tree or an abandoned pet.
Jenna has a special place in her heart for animals with unique needs, especially those that require extra love, patience, and care. She looks forward to working with you and your furry family members!
